From home runs to pitching strikeouts, Grinding Metal has you covered. The start of the 2023 season is here!

James Outman, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers
The rookie belted a deep home run in his Opening Day start for the Dodgers. His power is real, so expect him to get a long look at the center field position. The 25 year old hit 31 home runs in the minors least season, and while he will split some time with Jason Heyward, he'll get a bulk of the starts.

David Peterson, SP, New York Mets
While Peterson may have "won" the final rotation spot for the Mets to start the season, he's no stranger to success in the big leagues. In 2022, he logged over 100 innings and started 19 games. In 2023, Peterson will likely have a bigger role, especially given the current injuries to the pitching staff. His strikeout totals are nothing to shrug off, and may have been drafted as a late round target already. However, if he's still out there, he's worth adding to your pitching staff.

Oscar Colas, OF, Chicago White Sox
The Cuban born player has split time between the Japanese Western League, Cuban National Team and the MiLB, but is finally ready for the big leagues. Across multiple MiLB levels in 2022, he hit .314/.371/.524 with 23 home runs. He made the Opening Day roster for the White Sox and although he didn't start the first game of the season, he figures to be the primary right fielder for the Sox.

Brusdar Graterol, RP, Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers don't have a "number one" closer, but one figures that Graterol will get the first shot at the ninth inning. He has an electric fastball that can easily top triple digits. Evan Phillips could also see some looks in the ninth inning, but Graterol should be the closer headed into April.
