Although it's the start of the season and players may be struggling to find their groove, owners will need to patient and make a quick drop. Grinding Metal examines potential waiver wire additions that can assist your team during the fantasy baseball season. From home runs to pitching strikeouts, Grinding Metal has you covered.

Steven Kwan, OF, Cleveland Guardians
Kwan has reached base 15 times in the first 4 games this season and is certainly a hot item on the waiver wire. While owners certainly shouldn't drop a player they drafted for Kwan, if owners have an empty roster spot from an injury - it is certainly worth picking Kwan up and riding the hot hand.

Kyle Wright, SP, Atlanta Braves
After a rocky start to his MLB career, Wright showed signs of a promising season by tossing six shutout innings during his first start of 2022. His next start comes later this week on the road against the San Diego Padres. He's currently owned in less than 25% of fantasy leagues.

Gavin Lux, OF/INF, Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers have a crowded outfield, but with the DH in the National League along with position flexibility, Lux is finding playing time. Lux is finding time at second base and left field, as Justin Turner figures to see designated hitter time, with Max Muncy shifting to third base. Lux has started in all three games for the Dodgers this season, hitting .375/.500/.375. He's owned in less than 40% of leagues and figures to find regular playing time.
