Grinding Metal examines potential waiver wire additions that can assist your team during the fantasy baseball season. From home runs to pitching wins, Grinding Metal has you covered.

Jo Adell, OF, Los Angeles Angels
The highly touted prospect finally arrived in the big-leagues during the shortened 2020 season. The good news for fantasy owners and Angels fans, is that appears Adell will receive regular every day at-bats. Angels' manager Joe Maddon made a specific point to mention that Adell will be the every day right fielder, with Justin Upton and Brian Goodwin moving into a platoon role for left field. Adell, 21, hit .298/.361/.518 with 35 home runs and 30 stolen bases.

Jairo Diaz, RP, Colorado Rockies
The Rockies lost two of their potential closers on the same day. Wade Davis was placed on the 10-day IL, and Scott Oberg was placed on the 45-day IL. Davis, the high dollar contract, figured to be the favorite, but has struggled since arriving in Denver. Jairo Diaz appears to the next reliever up, as Diaz has two saves already this season and has struck out 7 hitters in 5.1 innings pitched, while walking only 1. If for some reason Diaz falters or is removed from the role, Carlos Estevez would be the next reliever in line.

Rowan Wick, RP, Chicago Cubs
Craig Kimbrel continues to struggle, but the Cubs and David Ross continue to run him out in the ninth inning. In three appearances this season, Kimbrel has allowed at least two runs, while striking out just one batter. Although the Cubs want to stick with Kimbrel, the 2020 season is too short to just give games away, especially in the competitive NL Central. Wick, 27, has only played three seasons in the big leagues, but is the likely favorite for when Kimbrel is removed from the ninth inning. Wick has already come in to pick up/clean up two games for Kimbrel, and currently holds a 0.00 ERA and two saves this season.

Donovan Solano, INF, San Francisco Giants
The Donovan Solano add is strictly for owners who want a "hot" bat right now. As long as Solano continues to hit baseballs hard, and reach base, he's a must play in fantasy baseball. Will Solano win the MVP? No. Has Solano discovered some hidden talent? No. However, with a .457/.474/.657 slash line, and 13 RBIs - he's a simple add, and then drop when the batting average falls off the table.
