In this edition of 2019 Fantasy Boom, we review Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Tommy Pham.
After a disappointing start to the season in 2018 with the St. Louis Cardinals, Pham found a new home with the Rays during the second half of the season. In this case, the change of scenery was actually good for a player. Below are the splits between two teams:
Overall, the 30-year-old outfielder would hit a combined .275/.367/.464 with 21 home runs and 15 stolen bases.
Why is the soon to be 31-year-old a solid pick-up in 2019? The real and legit possibility of a 20/20 season. In fact, Pham had 23 home runs and 25 stolen bases in 2017 with the Cardinals. Additionally, the Rays love to run, as they stole a total of 128 bags last season, good for second among all teams in the American League (Boston Red Sox - 135).
