Regular closer Pedro Strop
may be sidelined a while due to a hamstring issue suffered during the makeup game with the Washington Nationals. The Cubs could use a closer by committee approach, but Chavez may be the likely candidate to see save opportunities. He has three saves since joining the Cubs while also posting a 1.45 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 31 innings.
Tyler White, 1B, Houston Astros
The Astros will continue to find a lineup spot for White, as he continues to produce in the month of September. He's hitting .303/.383/.612 with 12 home runs in 52 games this season. He usually splits his time between first base and DH.
What was supposed to be a "breakout" year for Castillo has been anything but awful, but in September, Castillo has shown the hype that made him a potential sleeper heading into this season. In 3 September starts, Castillo is 2-1 with a 1.50 ERA and has struck out 27 hitters across 18 innings pitched. Furthermore, his change-up has been a fantastic strikeout pitch. Castillo's next test will come against the Cubs on Sunday.
