Kirby Yates, RP, San Diego Padres
San Diego traded their closer, Brad Hand
, to the Indians this week - opening the door for Yates and the ninth inning. Yates has a 1.43 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 37.2 innings. Although he'll be the closer moving forward for the Padres, Yates, too, could be traded later this month.
is back on the disabled list for the first place Braves, which will thrust Minter back into the closer's role moving forward. Vizcaino has been bothered by a shoulder injury recently, and there's no telling how this will affect his availability in the second half. Minter has a 3.20 ERA this season and is 4-for-4 in save opportunities.
The lefty-starter has been sidelined with a biceps injury since the end of May. He's expected to return in the second half for the Red Sox after appearing in 6 rehab appearances. He's owned in less than 25% of fantasy baseball leagues, making him an interesting addition for the second half.
Robinson Chirinos, C, Texas Rangers
Chirnos is listed here simply for owners who need a catching replacement, with Wilson Ramos
hitting the disabled list and expected to miss a few weeks. Chirnos doesn't provide much offense and certainly won't replace Ramos, but he does have 11 home runs.
