We're moving into the month of March, with some players suffering minor setbacks, and other players missing the entire first month of play (Curtis Granderson). The latest significant injury happen to Cleveland Indians reliever Chris Perez. The Indians announced that Perez will be shut down three-to-four weeks and will miss the World Baseball Classic.
Most players that are held out of spring training games due to a small injury are merely done as a precaution.
The list of players below currently have an injury or they are on the verge of coming back. The data is sorted by the major league team of the player.

With Chris Perez likely missing Opening Day, the Indians will rely on reliever Vinnie Pestano
as their ninth inning man. Pestano, 28, has recorded only five big-league saves, but is a very good relief pitcher. If he does well with the job, he can hopefully keep it when Perez returns. Pestano's fantasy value will continue to rise as we approach fantasy baseball draft dates.
has yet to appear in a spring training action game and will likely continue to miss time. Crawford, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery, suffered a setback earlier this week and remains unlikely to be ready for Opening Day.
(blisters) and Yovani Gallardo
(groin) were both scratched from their scheduled starts this weekend. Both pitchers don't expect to miss significant time.
Prospect Zack Wheeler
was scratched from his scheduled start earlier this week with oblique soreness. The New York Mets expect him to resume throwing within seven-to-eight days.
is still recovering from a foot injury after being hit by a pitch earlier in spring training. His x-rays were negative and he expects to play in the World Baseball Classic.
The Mets expect Johan Santana
to pitch within two weeks, but his status for Opening Day is still undetermined.
The Chicago Cubs expect Starlin Castro
to return to Cactus League action sometime next week. Castro has missed a few games with tightness in his hamstring. It's not a major concern.
